Residents of Chateau Élan, outside Atlanta, Georgia, are proof that the hard work and commitment of even a few people really can change the world. Spearheaded by one dynamic and dedicated lady--Francine Boudewijn--a small group of friends and neighbors banded together and raised an amazing $135,000 for the Smile Train.
"This year, we were looking for a charity that helps children all around the world," said Boudewijn. "We wanted to highlight the good work Americans do in this troubled world, and we found The Smile Train, we were impressed by their mission as well as the number of poor children they help."
The Smile Train has been together for a little more than a decade, in that time they have provided operations for approximately 100,000 children that suffer from cleft lip and palate.
"Dare to Share's one remarkable, fundraising event will provide 540 children not only just a new smile, but a second chance at life."
