Dare To Share, Inc.'s last event of the year was again a success. As anticipated, the crowd was a little smaller but no less generous. Most of the guests dressed up in their 1920's garbs and competed for the most authentic costume. Ms. Martha Martin walked away with the honors which were awarded by Ms. Kathy Buckley, the well known comedienne and motivational speaker and Jovita Moore of WSB-TV in Atlanta. Your Event Solutions and Larry Oley magically transformed the ballroom at Chateau Élan into a 1920's Speakeasy where drinks were served in tea cups. The staff of the resort served a delicious meal while the guests participated in all sorts of 'illegal' activities. The raid by the 'Key Stone Cops' was therefore not unanticipated. Music for the evening was provided by DJ Ricky Discenza and Ms. Kathy Buckley, the headliner of the evening, brought both laughter and tears to many faces with her wit, hilarious stories and jokes as well as the heartwarming and amazing story about her own life. The usual live and silent auctions were a success - few items were left behind. The funds raised, combined with the reverse raffle funds, were distributed equally to the charities in October. Francine Boudewijn expressed her and the Board's gratefulness for every one's generosity: "It is so gratifying to see that people are willing and able to give to these wonderful charities that need our help even though we are all going through difficult financial times. It makes our efforts worthwhile."
