Dare To Share, Inc. held its Reverse Raffle in the Winder Community Center on June 20, 2008 with a crowd of about 120 in attendance. Francine Boudewijn, while thanking all for contributing, reported that the raffle was sold out with tickets sold as far away as California, New York and Canada. The $10,000 winner of the raffle was the Autism Society of America-Georgia Chapter. Mr. Tom Harris who works closely with the Autism Society told of the desperate need for funds to support the awareness program the Georgia Chapter runs for parents, grandparents and other family members. The fund had recently run dry and they did not know how to continue the program for families with suspected autism in the family. As Tom said "this money is God sent". All agreed that this was the best outcome we could have hoped for.

Part of the evening's festivities included the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to Tiffany Milagro and Courtney Piedrahita for their unwavering support. Both girls have been involved with Dare To Share from the beginning and have not missed any of the fund raisers. "These girls are very special to us. They are always ready to help" said Francine as she presented the awards.

Entertainment was donated by the duo of Jayne Olderman and Dante. They sang some of the songs they wrote for singers such as Patty Labelle. Ms. Martha Martin, a Dare To Share board member, kept things moving along as the master of ceremony for the evening and conducted the raffle. The Winder Police Department, together with some local merchants, took it upon themselves to serve the attending crowd a delicious meal.

Dare To Share, Inc. announces its schedule of fundraisers for 2008.

The 2008 season will concentrate on two events to support the Dare To Share supported charities.

The first will be a reverse raffle that will be held on June 20, 2008 in the Community Center in Winder, GA. This raffle, which starts at 6:00pm, promises to be a lot of fun as the 'last man standing' will be the winner, unless the finalists try to make deals to improve their chances. Raffle tickets are $100 each and only 300 will be sold. The winner does not have to be present but will need to leave a phone number where he or she can be reached. Food will be provided for all ticket holders and a cash bar will be available.

The year's main event will be the Gala at Chateau Élan Resort in Braselton, GA. The theme for this event is "The Roaring Twenties - Expect the Unexpected". Dress up in your best Twenties dress or suit and vie for the "best dressed" prize. Enjoy an evening of high class entertainment and fun. The headliner for the event is Kathy Buckley the five-time American Comedy Award nominee as best stand-up comedienne. Kathy is both inspirational and extremely funny.
